Website Analytics

We do not currently collect website analytics. When we do, we will measure how our website is used with Matomo, an analytics platform we will host ourselves on our own infrastructure. We do not use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service, and your browsing data is not shared with an analytics vendor.

That measurement will be cookieless by default: no cookie is set, no cross-site identifier is stored on your device, and we cannot recognise you from one visit to the next. Your IP address will be used transiently to derive an approximate location and anonymised — we mask part of the address — before any analytics record is stored. We will not retain raw IP addresses in our analytics data.

Our lawful basis for that processing will be legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): understanding and improving our website. We are completing a legitimate interests assessment covering the brief handling of IP addresses, and we will publish its outcome before any measurement begins.

Because these records cannot be linked back to you, we usually cannot find your data in them if you ask to see or delete it — and we will not collect extra information about you just to try (Article 11 GDPR). You can object to this measurement at any time (Article 21 GDPR) by emailing [email protected].

You may additionally enable Enhanced Analytics in your cookie preferences. This sets a first-party cookie so we can recognise your device across visits; that processing relies on your consent, it is off unless you turn it on, and you can withdraw it at any time.

We will retain detailed analytics records for 12 months, after which they are deleted and only aggregated reports are kept.
